2009 U.S. Junior Amateur Championships Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ was proudly selected by the United States Golf Association to be the site of the 2009 US Junior Amateur and US Girls’ Junior Championships during July 20-25 of 2009. The young winners were Jordan Spieth and Amy Anderson.
The immense success of this championship could not have been feasible without the support and encouragement from the wonderful members who volunteered their time and homes for the Championships. We were pleased to see a strong spirit of camaraderie as members and volunteers banded together.
Trump National was honored to hear such praise about the club from everyone during the Championships. Visitors constantly commented on the club’s unparalleled facilities, remarkable property, and the incomparable experience they had while here, further validating how truly special Trump National Bedminster really is.
General Manager David Schutzenhofer saw the event as a success. “I just couldn’t be more pleased with how the community pitched in and helped with these two national championships,” he said.
Bedminster Township Committeewoman Jeanne Maass, who was volunteering at the clubhouse on Friday, was also pleased with the event.
“It’s been a wonderful experience for everyone involved,’’ she said. “We certainly hope to see a future major here in Bedminster.’’
Trump himself expressed a similar view to The Bernardsville News as he left the awards ceremony.
“We’re very pleased with it,” he said. “The course withstood everything. We’re honored by all the great reviews we’ve received, and we’ve had a lot of fun.”
