The platform tennis courts are complete and ready for play.
The four courts, located at our current equestrian paddock, will feature the latest in platform tennis design and lighting. Platform tennis is a very fun and social sport, even for those who are brand new to the game. In case you are not familiar with platform tennis, let me briefly explain how it works. The court is less than half the size of a tennis court and there are heaters underneath the courts to melt the falling snow. What makes platform tennis so exciting is that the ball can be played off of the side fences, much like racquetball. This makes for long lasting rallies and gives everyone an extra shot at staying in the point.
Our ladies team began playing matches the first week of January, and we encourage everyone to join the team as it will be a fun way for new players to learn the sport. In addition to league play, we will have clinics for both advanced & beginning players, social events and junior clinics. Brian Anderson, our racquets sports professional, is a certified platform tennis instructor and will remain on staff to oversee the platform programs. Be sure to come out for an enjoyable workout and easy-to-play game!
