Bonnin, Melichar Bring Experience, Creativity
BEDMINSTER,
N.J., March 26, 2007, Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster
has created a new food and beverage team, naming
Pavel Melichar as food and beverage manager and Michael Bonnin
as executive chef. The appointments were announced by general
manager David Schutzenhofer, who in the past three months has
attracted an experienced group of professionals to serve the
growing membership and expanding facilities of this exclusive,
award-wining private club.
Melichar has over 10 years of food
and beverage operations management experience. Most recently,
he served as director of restaurants
at the Fairmont St. Andrews in Scotland and at the Fairmont
Newport Beach in California, where he developed and opened the
hotel’s new dining outlets upon completion of the hotel’s
$32 million transformation. He also worked at the Fairmont Southampton
in Bermuda and for various companies across Europe, including
The Savoy Group, Taj Group of Hotels, Inter-continental Hotels,
and Group Lucien Barriere France.
Melichar studied at the Hotel
Technical Institute and the Lycee Alain Fournier in Verdun,
France and holds his diploma in Culinary
Art – Option in Food & Beverage Services.
With a
culinary background spanning 15 years, Bonnin most recently
served as executive chef at North Jersey Country Club where
he was responsible for food and beverage sales, as well as banquet
and club functions. He served as executive sous chef at Plainfield
Country Club for six years, and as a chef at Charlie Brown’s,
a national restaurant chain.
During his career, Bonnin has conducted
culinary workshops for a variety of audiences and has been the
recipient of several
culinary awards. He studied at the Culinary Institute of America
and received his Certified Chef de Cuisine from the American
Culinary Federation. Bonnin also holds an Associate Degree in
Hotel-Motel Restaurant Management from Middlesex County College.
The
golf course at Trump National, Bedminster was designed by world-renowned
golf course architect Tom Fazio and has been
recognized by Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, Golfweek and Golf
Inc. among the best golf courses in the world since opening
in 2004. A second 18 holes, designed by Tommy Fazio of Tom Fazio
II, is now under construction.
The club’s dining facilities,
which include indoor and outdoor venues in the clubhouse, as
well as the poolside Bistro,
are being expanded to incorporate a glass-enclosed banquet room
seating up to 300 persons.
